What a great little place! My closest friends Rohan and Maria took me to this spot and what a little gem it is! Obviously a hit with the locals, you know a place is truly authentic when the locals are there.

Service is absolutely amazing and friendly!

The margarita that I ordered was awesome! I ordered the steak fajitas and it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning to this little place.

If you love Mexican food and want a amazing authentic experience, you must try it out!! Support your local mom and pop places! There's a reason they're still around!!

Great traditional Mexican breakfasts for about $6 make this place a keeper in my book.

The lunch options are also quite reasonably priced and prepared by the family staff who work here. The lunch plates, and other options are also well prepared standard Mexican fare. For the price and the value this place is a stand out.

They have a very small parking lot where I would only park a subcompact car. I have seen people with big trucks and SUVs struggle to get in and out of the lot. So, if you have a Honda Civic yes park here, but if you have a giant SUV park on the street.

This place has been a neighborhood bar or restaurant in one way or another for over 100 years and as the Guadalajara for most of my life. I lived just down the street on Walker Square park (and my family still does) and went here for breakfast occasionally with friends and recently started going here with family when I am in town.

There is nothing fancy or hipster or Rick Baseless about this place, but two people can have Mexican breakfast or lunch for under $10 each and even if you get the bigger plates you will probably spend less than $15 each.  A great choice for a family run Mexican place that is affordable.

    Go here!

I feel terrible that I have passed Guadalajara dozen of times without stopping in as I have definitely missed out.  This will be a short review.
You would be a fool not to order the red (pork) or green (chicken) posole.  I was fortunate to try both on a Saturday night and left a happy customer. A heaping bowl of goodness accompanied by a plate of sliced radishes, cabbage, and fried tortilla to add as you like.  I absolutely loved the broth on both soups.  Located on the first floor of a home, the space itself is not that large with approximately 10 tables.  Service was excellent and my waitress was warm and friendly.  I know now never to pass this place again without stopping in.  One of my new faves.

This is the real deal folks. The sopa pollo verde is the staple that all come for. (Get the large portion and take some home). The pastor, steak, any meat really is top notch. Enjoy being in your Mexican grandmas kitchen and be grateful you discovered this 'as authentic and welcoming' as it gets gem.

I just kinda love it. Why?
Pozole errday!!!! This is a Mexican soup with hominy (it's like giant corn) and pork. Raw sides come out that you can add to your pozole: cabbage, limes (call them lemons when at authentic Mexican restaurants, that's what they call them) and onion. They also bring tostadas to eat with the soup, its traditionally served that way. The meat you may have to pick at a little bit, it's traditionally served with some of the fat or skin of the meat - it's just a thing. I don't mind picking around it, though.

They have the red (more common) pozole with pork and also the green with chicken.

Pozole is just wonderful, homemade, delicious, traditional Mexican soup. I crave it most in Sundays. If you are hanging, swing by for pozole and a margarita to spruce you right up!

The staff is so sweet! Checked in me multiple times, multiple people.

I'm new to sopes and tried one ala carte with ground beef. It was excellente! Muy bueno!

I also love that it's such a neighborhood joint. It's more like coming to a family member's house and eating in their kitchen.
What is not to like about that?!

Some things in the menu I don't recommend, the nachos I did not love and some friends didn't like the lack of meat in the fajitas.

Again, this is my pozole place.
